Animoca Brands Japan and its subsidiary, KLKTN, announced a strategic alliance with Cool Cats Group to extend the web3 realm in Japan's anime business. Animoca Brands Japan recently announced the acquisition of equity shares in Cool Cats Group, while KLKTN obtained NFTs of all three Cool Cats collections from the secondary market via San FranTokyo, a virtual "decentralized city" focusing on licensed anime and web3 IP.
Robby Yung, CEO of Animoca Brands, expressed interest in working with Cool Cats to explore prospects in traditional Japanese media products such as manga. Daisuke Iwase, CEO of Animoca Brands Japan, sees the collaboration as a cultural exchange that promotes progress in Japan's digital and artistic realms.
Making a Cool Cats manga with Japanese manga artist's artwork is part of the strategic initiative. Through establishing connections with important Japanese entertainment and intellectual property companies, the collaboration seeks to grow the Cool Cats brand in that country. San FranTokyo will also include interactive efigurine drops and include the Cool Cats IP story to complement the marketing campaigns of other well-known Japanese IPs.
Collaboration is a significant step forward for web3, according to KLKTN COO David Taing, as it unites diverse businesses, worlds, and technologies for maximum synergy.
