Bybit Hacker Launders $335M in Stolen Crypto Assets

According to the latest on-chain data, the hacker transferred 45,900 ETH ($113M) in the last 24 hours. They still have approximately 363,900 ETH ($900M). At the current rate, the remaining money might be cleared within 8-10 days.

Blockchain security firms claim North Korea's Lazarus Group is to blame. Elliptic has identified 11,084 wallet addresses related to the attack. Despite the scale of the attack, Bybit's response could help recover faith in centralized exchanges. They recognized consumer withdrawals and replaced the stolen $1.4B in Ether within three days.

Dan Hughes, the founder of Radix, feels Bybit's handling of the matter can potentially restore faith in CEXs. He highlights the importance of Bybit bearing the loss, as stated. The Bybit attack is responsible for over half of the $2.3B stolen in crypto-related hacks.

This event underscores the persistent security concerns in the crypto industry. Bybit hacker launders $335M of stolen cryptocurrency. Despite the large exploit, Bybit's quick response may assist in restoring trust in centralized exchanges.
