Cardano's founder, Charles Hoskinson, criticized Ethereum's governance architecture. In an interview with CoinTelegraph at Token2049 in Singapore, he said that Vitalik Buterin had too much control over the network's growth.
Hoskinson's main point is clear. He feels Ethereum's structure gives Buterin too much control. "When one person can change the entire project's direction, it's not truly decentralized," he stated.
According to Hoskinson, Cardano does things differently. Their strategy addresses the "governance trilemma" by balancing efficiency, effectiveness, and integrity. Cardano employs delegated representatives and Intersect, a member-based organization, to simplify difficult topics for community voting.
Hoskinson was once an Ethereum co-founder. He left in 2014 due to disagreements with Vitalik over the project's direction.
Following the interview's publication, Hoskinson expressed frustration on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, "I'm just going to stop giving you guys interviews. I've had enough of the dramatic headlines and wasted interviews."
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges in crypto. More than governance issues, the media tends to be reactive to statements. The goal of both Cardano and Ethereum is the same: solve scalability issues while remaining secure.
